覚lcova mapa ﾈech (覚lcｴs Map of Bohemia)
has extent c. 730 * 920 mm and is markedly worn, of course mainly on borders of individual map sheets; it was glued with linen.
Individual map sheets were after scanning (scanner HP Scanjet 4890, resolution 600 dpi, without any modifications) irregularly cropped, eventually slightly turned over in programme PhotoFiltre, colours I highlighted with the aid of XnView.
According to the condition of map I didnｴt try to adjust it more or to set it in some today used coordinate system, in addition the value of this map is rather historical than informative. Therefore I used imaginary coordinate system, with zero values near the north-western corner of the a1 sheet.
Every map sheet has owing to inaccuracy during the scanning and also by the imperfection of the design of map different size. Map sheets are settled in such a way to minimize blank spaces among them and make them correspond over these spaces. Every map sheet is in one raster JPG file and every of this files is accompanied by little text file, determining the location of the sheet.
Setting up of sheets were done in programme ArcMap 9.3 , the zipped directory contains moreover the project in excellent freeware GIS programme JanMap 2.5.1 and the background of the map in vector SHP file (in projects with colour R,G,B - 215,191,151). Otherwise it woul be possible to load maps without problem to any common GIS programme. |
